The reasons of Littering

Littering is always been a serious problem in Surabaya. Many people litter without realizing the effect of what they have done. We don’t know what they are thinking about, but we feel that their nasty behavior will cause to lose themselves.

Nobody really knows why people litter in spite of the fact that the only purpose littering serves, is to dirty the environment they live in. Maybe the reason why they are littering is because of a lack of rubbish bins in Surabaya. For this reason, the Government should prepare numerous rubbish bins in the parks or beside the streets.

But not only that, littering also arises from laziness. Many people lazy to walk to the rubbish bin near them. They feel it won’t be a matter if they just leave a cup or a piece of paper behind. But actually it does an absolutely big matter. How about all the people in Surabaya think the same way. Surabaya would be overrun with litter in no time at all.

Even our Government has no idea about this. That’s why we think the Government should punish people who litter heavily, for example, fine them in a high cost or put them into jail for a long time. To do this, the Government should put cameras besides the streets. Besides that, there must be the self-consciousness of the people.

We do hope that our suggestion will make potential litterbugs think twice about littering.

My Last Whishes

If I had only one day to live, I would do a lot of things although I know it is not enough for me to do them.

All of us know that we only have one chance to live on the earth, and it is really precious, so don’t waste our live useless. We can do lots of activities, and the most interesting one is when we do the things with our friends. We play together, eat together, do our homework and do other fun activities together. In this live, I often waste my time doing nothing and study a lot, that makes me boring, but if I knew that today were my last day to live, I would do the activities that I like to do.

First, I would play softball for a long time because I like to play it very much and I had only played it for several times at school. Even though I usually play softball with my brothers, we always have a lack of players, so it isn’t really exciting for us.

Second, I would play my PSP until the battery would blow off. I rarely play it since I bought it in thirteen years old. Moreover, the higher my grade at school, the more difficult assignments that I get. That’s why no much time for me to enjoy it.

Finally, it’s time for me to have a private time with my whole family. I would play soccer with my brothers, because they really like to play it, we would play till the last drop because I love to play with them very much.

I know it is absolutely hard for me to leave all my beloved things and that’s why we should grateful for the days that God has already given to us.

Vertebrates and Invertebrates

There are two basic types of animals, such as vertebrates which have backbones and invertebrates which don’t.
There are many kinds of vertebrates which are: FISH, REPTILES, AMPHIBIANS, BIRDS and MAMMALS.
FISH are cold-blooded animals and use their gills to breathe. Their skin is scaly and they lay eggs except for sharks, dolphins, whales which give birth and live young. Salmon, tuna, goldfish and clownfish are the examples of fish.
REPTILES are cold-blooded and have scaly skin, like fish, but they breathe through their lungs. Most of them lay eggs. Reptiles include snakes, tortoises, alligators, turtles and crocodiles.
AMPHIBIANS are cold-blooded animals which begin their life in the water, breathing through gills. When they have already grown up, they breathe through their lungs and finally, they can walk on the land. Some examples of amphibians are frogs and salamanders.
BIRDS are warm-blooded and have feathers and wings. All birds lay eggs. They can fly, not including penguins and ostriches. Eagles, parakeets and turkeys are all birds.
MAMMALS and birds are alike. They are warm-blooded. The differences are: mammals don’t lay eggs, but they give birth to live young. Most mammals live on the land and have fur on their body (except for whales, dolphins and sharks which live in the water). Wolf, chimpanzees and humans are all mammals.
There are also some kinds of invertebrates, such as SPONGES, COELENTERATES, ECHINODERMS, WORMS, MOLLUSKS and ARTHROPODS.
SPONGES live in the water and get their foods by filtering tiny organisms that swim by.
COELENTERATES use their mouth not only for eating, but also for eliminate the waste. There are many stinging tentacles around their mouth like corals, jellyfish and sea anemones.
ECHINODERMS live in the sea and have exoskeletons which means there are skeletons outside of their body, and usually the skeletons are the multiply of five. Echinoderms include sea urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers.
WORMS can live in variety places, including underwater, in dirt, or maybe inside other living creatures, like human’s bodies. There are many kinds of worms, such as roundworms, flatworms, earthworms, etc.
MOLLUSKS have soft bodies. To protect themselves, some mollusks have hard shells. Snails, slugs and squids are all mollusks.
ARTHROPODS’ bodies are divided into different parts. They also have exoskeletons. Arthropods include crustaceans such as lobsters, crabs and shrimps; arachnids including members of the spiders family, scorpions and ticks; and all insect for example butterflies, ants and bees.

Holiday In Bali

               My last holiday is in Bali. In Bali, I went to three places such as Holiday in Baruna that near Kuta Beach, Menjangan hotel (I forget the name) that close to Menjangan Island, and … (and the name was deleted from my mind too) that next to a beach .we cand play paraseling, motor boat, and even we can also go to the turtle island that the young turtles can be seen playing and swimming.

          First of all, I arrived in ‘Holiday in Baruna”hotel, my mother asked for family suite that could keep five people and I taught it was suitable for my family that consists of five persons. The room was built with connected to the next room by a door. It has a X- box in the children’s room. It was quiet big and it was very beautiful. Every evening, my father, my brothers, and I went to the Kuta Beach and played there such as kicking the wave. Second, I went to Menjangan hotel. It was very terrible because it didn’t have any air conditioner and there were many mosquitoes so I felt very disappointed but the most thing that made me feel very excited was the Menjangan Island. Because I could go snorkeling or diving that time but because I was beginner, so I chose snorkling. I was afraid but the guide led me how to do it, finally I knew I just had to breat from the hole on the top of my google and rowwed my leg, and it made me happy and I was very entertained by that dangerous activity. After that I visited … hotel, my mother also asked for family suite that had two televisions (in the living room and in the children room that was also used to play PS). Every evening when the servant came to my room, I was sure that he or she was looking at me because I was playing PS very seriously and in my opinion I think my family was the most serious family in playing PS.

         

The Right Way to Diet

 In this modern era, many people especially women are competing to get a slim body. Some of them certainly sacrifice everything to be on diet. They want to be slender thus they will look ugly. They think that the thinner they are, the prettier they look like.

 Going diet by only drinking water or without eating something actually can damage their own body, in fact many of them suffer from sickness when doing this such as dehydration. Usually, this kind of diet can only last for three days after that they will feel much hungrier than before; moreover, they will eat a greater portion than before.

 To begin with a diet program, we must know the right way otherwise it just only damaging our bodies. If you want to have a sexy body, you should do more exercises such as aerobic. We have to eat more healthy foods everyday.

 One thing you must remember that all human as well as all living things on earth will die as soon as they lack of water and vitamins in the healthy foods. To sum up, being yourself is the best way of diet. In addition, everyone has their own internal and external beauty, we must always look at our positive things.

My Most Embrassing Moment

  I had been given a dog from my uncle when my uncle migrated to Taiwan last three decades. I promised my uncle to groom the dog solemnly and never neglect it.

 First two weeks, I kept the dog really well. The dog was very cute and clever, he liked to pouch at me and play with me. I was also very joyful while taking the dog for a walk.

 Day went by, my spirit became waned. I felt absolutely bored with my job. moreover, I made it as an useless chore. I always avoid seeing the little dog wherever I went. I was lazy to spend my time with my dog.

 One day, the dog became particularly sick and collapsed it might be I had made him felt alone for a long time. My father obliged to take the dog to the nearest hospital, this made me felt very guilty since I had already ignored my plagued. I nervously called my uncle in Taiwan, fortunately he wanted to forgive all my fault.

J.K. Rowling

  J.K Rowling stands for Joanne Kathleen Rowling which is the most popular novels writer nowadays. Her friends usually called her JO. There is a long story before she began interesting in writing novels.

  Jo did many things before she struck upon writing children books such as working as a researcher and bilingual secetary for Amnesty  International and as an English teacher in Portugal.

 The novel' Harry Potter'  was suddenly poped into her mind when she was on a train to London. She tried to make a novel from it and finally 7 'Harry Potter' novels were made and many people like it very much even until now.

 The novel of' Harry Potter' are quickly spread around the world and this made her become the richest woman in the world. Today she has used about $18 million for charity. She also said that writing is the hobby that she enjoy the most.

Bali

Bali is a good place to be visited. There are many places which you can enjoy there such as Kuta Beach, Djimbaran, Ubud, Kintamani and much more. Bali is Also called “City of God" because its scenery and beautiful nature.
In Djimbaran you can eat a lot of delicious seafood along the beach; moreover, by sitting at the beach. It will make you feel the real relaxing sensation because of the sounds of the wind and the sea.
Bali has many beaches besides Djimbaran Beach, Bali also has Kuta Beach. Kuta is different from Djimbaran and other beaches. Kuta, where the sand was formed from coral sand and has a magnificent wave style is the most popular beach in Bali. Many people get there to do some water sports like jet skying, para-sailing, diving, swimming, snorkeling and much more.

Soft Drink, Shorten Your Lifetime

Drinking soft drink adored by almost all people in the world is very refreshing but only few people know the effect that will be caused by that bad habits. The researchers over the world have found that many symptoms can be occurred by drinking soft drink such as diabetes, osteoporosis and much more.

Soft drinks can bring us some serious harm because they contain many chemical substances such as the massive number of sugar. It is the trigger for diabetes; moreover, the use of aspartame in some soft drinks can paralyzed the consumers' brains capability to think well since it reduces the oxygen in our brain.
In addition, soft drink can also create a leaking hole in our ulcer. The researchers have made an experiment which is pouring 18 bottles of soft drinks to a strong steel and surprisingly, a big hole which is as big as a wedding ring was appeared within 5 minutes; therefore, please consider if the liquid is coming through your throat and landed in your ulcer.
Soft drinks also contain a lot of carbon dioxide which has disastrous effect to human's bone, so please stay away from any kinds of soft drink as you know, the more human get older, the less calcium may be produced.
To sum up, soft drink is only a drink that can bring many deadly effects to our body. Avoid drinking soft drink can help us live longer and healthier. We have to love our body and stay away from being hospitalized.

A Thrilling Journey

There was a family who wanted to go to a town. Unfortunately, there was no any smooth road that connect to it. The rought and narrow road should be passed by. They had tried to find a wider road but they couldn't find any. They were absolutely sure that they would face many obstacles in the journey.
When they were entering the front part of the road, they saw many boulders were littered there and it was pitted by many holes. Even the condition was very worst, the driver under-estimated the barriers and just crossed it with high speed. "A car has to be driven as a car!" said the driver although the passengers had already reminded him so many times to be careful.

Merely in a glance, the car crashed a huge boulder in front of it. The driver had already swerved to avoid it but it was too late, the car hit the boulder very hard and caused a big fissured at the car's petrol tank. "What a huge boulder it was." said the driver. The car was stopped with grinding halt and broke forever. All the passengers were very angry because not only their car were broken, but also they needed to walk fifteen more miles to their destination.

The Reasons Why Some Ninth Graders Would Like to Apply to Other Private Schools

        It has been three years learning in Gloria Christian Junior High School for me. I have got a lot of experiences and a lot of knowledge here but the most precious one for me is I have got a lot of friends which always accompany me in our busy days at school. There are also many new teachers have been known by me. As you know, teacher is teacher; none of them has the same habits or attitude especially in teaching us. Some of them are very fun and have a creative ways to teach us although in a boring subject. Some of them are very strict and discipline to us, they sometimes like to mad at us when we made even single small mistake. The others are absolutely active; which is not only for the school’s weightiness, but also in giving the students a lot of projects, home works and tasks; for instance, the one who gave us the project to interview some of the students about ‘The Reasons Why Some Ninth Graders Would Like to Apply to Other Private Schools’ and also the one who gave us a seriously vertiginous work which is making a blog full of long and complicated English articles. The text bellow is all about the survey that I have made by asking my friends for the reasons why he or she would like to apply to other private school.

Gloria Christian Junior High School is a new school that has only few nine graders, which is about approximately one hundred twenty students. Unfortunately, after three years learning in Gloria Junior High School, some of the students have decided to move to other private schools which obviously to a better school according to them. Of course, it has many reasons for that. One of the reasons is about the school’s assessments have caused them a severe headache, such as this kind of overwhelming writing.

          Some of the students are complaining about the large number of the projects and tests receiving from the teachers. Not only the quantity but also the difficulties of the test has been given made them dropping out from this school. They think that the way of the questions made is very incoherent, especially in Mathematic and physic subjects. Although they always deal with an easy tasks or exercises, the tests can kill them (especially for inadequate students). Subjects bore them since the learning system is only sitting and listening to the teacher such as the social subject and the Indonesian language subject.
          The subjects that have many activities are not always fun according to the students, for example Art subject. Art subject has many kinds of activities but most of them need the students to buy many materials, which according to the students is very inane and extravagant. The assessments given week by week in art subject also can interrupt the students very much and they think it’s just a waste of time.
          The courage teachers that always delirious in suffered the students by giving tests and projects also caused some of the students hate this school. These kind of teachers usually seemed by the students as he/she really menace the students to do it or dead.  Some of the students said that the assessments are too many as this school had ever won many championships, which actually it had won nothing.
          Not only the students are complaining, but also some of the parents are complaining about the cost of the school fee in Gloria Junior High School.  The school fee has been too expensive; in fact the school has just been built. As you know, not all of the students are capable to pay the expensive school fee.
          In addition, this school has too many rules such as each student have to wear complete and appropriate uniform (black belt, black shoes, white socks, school badges) everyday, Boys can’t lay long hair, Can’t bring hand phone to school,  can’t run in corridor, and much more. This made the students feel not free enough to study at this school.
       To sum up, every student has their own responsibility not only to achieve good scores but also to obey the school rules and respect other. The teachers should also teach the students with more passion and try to make friend with them, never let the students think that all the materials that have been given to them are the biggest burden in the world. By doing this, the stronger bond between the teachers and the students will be tied.

Hurricane Strikes- Many Hurts

Hurricane Irene hit Florida on a Friday night and caused a serious destruction. First; it also caused the city was run out of water and electricity. Second; a huge flood was caused by it. The last; it damaged most of the supply for the winter. People believed that it would take a long time to repair the damage caused by Irene Hurricane.

Why Do Some Animals Die Out?

In this recent years humans have made dangerous activities which made the extinction of animals speed up by the population’s growth without sufficient land to live. Second; poaching animals for their precious parts. Third; humans’ pollutions which poison the ecosystem. Finally; the humans’ errors of bringing foreign animals that accidently prey the native’s animals. Many of the animals are endangered and they need more protection from human and a safe habitats to live.

My Last Holiday

 Usually I go to Taiwan every year to visit my father's family such as my grandfather, my grandmother, my uncle, my aunts and my cousins. But this last two years my family and I didn't go there, it made me miss them so much. I still remember when I was there, my uncle took us to many interesting places such as Taiwan's Zoo, museum , malls and national parks and we also enjoyed Taiwanesse dishes such as dumplings and the street snacks. Taiwan's Zoo was a little bit different with Surabaya's Zoo, it has a lot of beautiful parks and many kinds of birds ;moreover, it is well organized. The zoo is very large, it is about twice bigger than Surabaya's Zoo. It will take you about two days to see all of the atractive animals and various kinds of plants there. The animal I liked most in that zoo was the cute pinguins. They are taken care of in a huge fozen place which is very comfortable for them and fed with fresh fish. My brothers liked the reptiles there are a lot of kinds of snakes, lizards and crocodiles that we can't find in Indonesia. That was our first time went to Taiwan's Zoo, we really had a good time and enjoyed there.
  Taiwan's museum also amazed me because it has a very modern technologies, they devided into three zones: Historian zone, pre-historian zone and science zone. In the historian zone we could learn a lot about Taiwan's ancient history, ancient people and Taiwan's old technologies like artifacts. It was very cool and I got many new informations about Taiwan but none of my brother enjoyed there especially my youngest brother, Terry. My father also told me a lot of things about ancient Taiwan. Pre-historian zone contains many kinds of Dinosaurs from the strong and big one until the small and weak one, this was also the place where Terry enjoyed a lot, truthfully he liked dinosaurs very much and he also collected many books about Dinosaurs. He has an interest at Dinosaurs and almost didn't want to leaved the pre-historian zone. The science zone was the most suitables zone for Calvin since he always likes to learn something new. The science zone has a lot of machine to help you to learn more about human's anatomy and there were many sources for doing labolatory research. We liked the museum so much because we can get a lot of new things from this museum and I think museum is the new way of teaching besides learning at school.
  Taiwan also has many parks and it is totally different with Surabaya's. The parks are very big and beautiful and usually we have to pay money to enter the parks and some of them are not cheap. The parks has a lot of beautiful scenes such as huge waterfall, artificial mountains and a massive pond with many Koi fish inside. I saw a lot of children were playing kites and hide and seeks at the park and it was really fun, I played with them for a whole afternoon and I made friend with them. It were the same as my brothers, they also had fun at the park, they fed the pigeons in the park with sone peanuts from my uncle. My brothers liked the pigeon very much because they were not only cute but also very kind and friendly towards people.
  Usually we went back from Tauwan with many souvenirs and Taiwaness snacks such as "pia", Taiwaness candies and pickles. We brought it and gave it to my family in Surabaya who never went to Taiwan before. Sometimes we also bought some magazines or books for my grandparents.The trip to Taiwan was very interesting and very memorable. I am looking forward for my next trip to Taiwan, I have already missed my family there hopefully I visit the museum and Taiwan's Zoo again, I also missed the pinguins so much, I hope the pinguins has already grown up when I am there for the second time.
 For you who never visit Taiwan, it is well recomended country for your holiday and I wish you will enjoy as much as I do.

Introducting My family

My name is Ivan Tantio, I am now fifteen years old. I live at a place near Kenjeran with my family. My family have five members they are my father, my mother, me and two brothers, Whose named Calvin and Terry. My father's name is Mr.Chen who is an ordinary bussinesman. My mother's name is Linda, she is a housewife, she does households works everyday from morning to midnight. In the morning she usually wakes me up, sweeps the floor, washes the clothes and prepares the breakfast. Calvin and Terry are both busy students, they always wake up in the early morning and sleep very late at night. Calvin and Terry are the same as me, we do every things together such as eating, studying, playing and watching TV.
 My father is now fourty seven years old. He is a person with high charisma, he is very strict and discipline that doesn not like to see me lazy on learning or studying especially on my school project. He likes to play baseball and table tennis, he was also the one who taught me how to play table tennis and baseball. He is also genius in mathematic and science, no wonder many mathematics olympiad had been won by him when he was still in a school age. Eventhough he is very old now but he still can achieve many rewards especially in table tennis competitions. He always get a gold medal in table tennis competitions.
 My mother is now fourty three years old but she is still very energic while doing the households works. Even she does not achieve any achievement but she admits that she always did well at school, she never made my grandparents upset because of her scores. She is also very wise, she always helps me and my brothers out from our problems such as teaching us how to do our homeworks and helping us making the timetable while the final test is near.
 Calvin is my second brother who is sitting in the second grade of junior high school. He is still fourteen but Ihe can do anything by himself. He is also very deligent so that he always get a good score from school especially at mathematics subject, which he likes the most. He had ever won a trophy because he could get the highest score of the national exam among his friends when he was still in elementary school. His hobbies are the same with my father such as table tennis, baseball and soccer. He does not like playing computer games but he has a PSP( Playstation Portable), he has it not because he wants it but my parents gave it to him because his achievement at school.
 Terry is my little brother which is still eleven years old and still in the sixth grade of elementary school. He is very small but I think he is very cute in this size. He is a spoiled child maybe because he feels he is the youngest son in my family. He is a little bit naughty and lazy, he very likes to play and very lazy to study. It could take much time to make him sit down at the desk and study since he is really active. Playing alone is his favorite job ;moreover, daydreaming. He has so many hobbies that all related with playing such as playing cardsgame, computergames and boardgames. Although he hates study very much, he never gets red score in his report and he has a great talent which is drawing comics. He likes to spends his sparetime in drawing comics alone and often angry when I interrupted him.
 That is all about my family, each of them have their own character but all of us can live in harmony and help each other when facing difficult problem. I hope we can be better day by day and in a family means no one lost and left behind. I also believed that loving each other is the first step to start everythings, without love we just ruin everythings, no hopes, no ways and no brighter future.
 After reading this articles, I hope you can enjoy and love your family because they are the first one who will help us when we are in trouble.

Otzi ( an ancient man who was found frozen in the Alps)

Otzi was an ancient person who was found by two German climbers in frozen condition in the Alps when they were on holiday. Otzi quickly became popular among many people around the world. Not only the body was found frozen in the ice but also many amazing artifacts were found next to him such as copper axe, stone knife, arrows and quiver and a leather backpack. Historians believed that Otzi might have come from two different areas such as Northern Italy between Milan and Vernice, the other in Southern Switzerland and Austria. The historians also believed that Otzi was a person of great importance, he might be a shaman or holy man. Now, Otzi's body is kept in Italian museum.
